You already know celebrity landscaper Ahmed Hassan has a green thumb from his past TV shows on the DIY and HGTV networks. But did you know at one point in his life, the California native struggled with sobriety?

Hassan candidly shares his testimony about family life, career, and his philosophy.

“I came from three generations of alcoholics. My dad was the first to get clean and sober. When I went to jail for selling weed, I began to reflect on not graduating high school. That’s when I worked to get clean and sober because I wanted nice stuff. Simple as that.”

Ahmed Hassan is a self taught landscape designer that began working as a professional maintenance gardener as a teenager. No doubt his work ethic has taken him far from his youthful struggles.

“I feel it’s your job to get out there and make things happen. I consider myself a hustler that took gardening very serious.”

Each week, millions of viewers were charmed by Ahmed’s personality and unique style of education blended with entertainment.  The “Crashers” brand and format were born with spin off shows House Crashers, Bath Crashers, Room Crashers and Kitchen Crashers.

“I believe life is about doing. I like to teach and I like to educate and inspire; I like to learn and pass information on to others. When you are on TV they don’t call you a teacher, they call you a host.”

Although DIY ended Yard Crashers with Ahmed as host to the dismay of loyal fans. He never missed a beat and directed his passion and expertise to his landscaping business, consulting, etc.

Today Hassan is host of a popular web series, writing a book, and developing a product line. In addition, he and his wife Tiffanie own and operate Ahmad Hassan Landscape Services (AHLS) a landscape consulting, design and installation firm.

He attributes his success in life to his many years of sobriety and the support and spiritual philosophy of his blended family.
