H.I.S. BET is Good News for Black Men

BET launches a new effort for Black men. It’s called H.I.S. BET and focuses  his optimum holistic Health, celebrating the diversity of his Image and achievement and encouraging his Service in his community.

Healthyblackmen.org was present at Morehouse College today for a energetic town hall, titled “Reclaim: Changing the Narrative of the Black Man in Media.” It was aptly narrated by Morehouse alum and political commentator Marc Lamont Hill. The panelists included a who’s who of ‘fool brothers,’ like Hosea ChanchezDavid Wall RiceDr. Bryant MarksAlonzo MourningChaka ZuluDr. Raphael Warnock and David Banner.

The conversation kicked off taking on media images of Black males as well as first lessons of what it means to be a Black man. Healthyblackmen.org supports BET and this initiative and hopes to partner in the future.

Louis Carr, President of Broadcast Media Sales, BET Networks is leading the charge within the media giant. “Together, as a community. we can do something about that. Friday’s H.I.S. BET Town Hall is a forum to further the discussion through honest dialogue with the young men who will set the tone for the future.”

H.I.S. BET is a new initiative focused exclusively on African-American men. H.I.S. BET is dedicated to addressing the unique needs of the African-American man, focusing on his Health, Image and Service.

This dynamic multi-platform offering will feature original content, including videos, photographs and editorial features, and serve as the destination for Black men to discuss what matters most. H.I.S. BET will inform and inspire by addressing important issues, celebrating what’s possible and providing positive images along with success stories from men from all walks of life.
