Healthy Man of the Month – March 2015
Born in Jamaica and raised in the Bronx, Donovan Green is a national authority on fitness and self-defense, a motivational speaker, and frequent guest on The Dr. Oz Show. He’s also our Healthy Man of the Month for March 2015.
Donovan Green is the author of No Excuses Fitness, a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and a certified ACE and IFA personal trainer. With over 15 years personal trainer experience and as a sought-after kickboxing instructor, Donovan understands the benefits of a healthy, physical lifestyle and desires to educate others as his teachers did for him.
Donovan’s genuine love for people sometimes seems too good to be true. He has a heart of gold and never allows worldly issues to damage his spirit. He helps whenever he can without expecting something back in return.
Green has a simple philosophy. “Success will only come when you begin to think successful.”
He holds a black belt in jiu-jitsu, a martial art, combat sport, and a self defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. He is also currently a practitioner of Krav Maga, a noncompetitive self-defense system developed in Israel that involves boxing, muay Thai, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, and grappling techniques, along with realistic fight training.
When it comes to putting his mark on the fitness industry, Green says, “I want people to know Donovan Green in fitness. I want to take away the complexity of fitness and help people find what they love about fitness.”
