Stroke Sends Joe Jackson to ICU
As news of the death of Bobbi Kristina, daughter of deceased music icon, Whitney Houston, another family musical dynasty is dealing with a health crisis.
Joe Jackson, the father of the late Michael Jackson, has been admitted to a hospital in Brazil after suffering a stroke while visiting the South American country.
In an emailed statement today, Monday, the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil said that Mr. Jackson is in the intensive care unit after being taken to the hospital over the weekend, per the Associated Press.
He is suffering from an irregular heartbeat, according to the statement.
If you think someone is having a stroke, act F.A.S.T. and do this simple test:
F—Face: Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?
A—Arms: Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
S—Speech: Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is their speech slurred or strange?
T—Time: If you observe any of these signs, call 9-1-1 immediately.
