Mr. Olympia 2016
Six-time champion Phil Heath made the history books again winning the title of Mr. Olympia as the 2016 competition got underway in Las Vegas, Nevada. And by the way, he walked away with a six-figure grand prize! Not bad at all.
Heath, 36, has won the last five Mr. Olympia competitions and won No. 6 in 2016, becoming the first bodybuilder to accomplish that feat since Ronnie Coleman had eight from 1998 to 2005. That is why we believe Phil Heath more than deserves to be our Healthy Man of the Month.
Phil Heath is a Beast!
Although age might be starting to become a factor, Heath is still the best bodybuilder in the world and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.
Phillip Jerrod Heath (nicknamed “The Gift“) was born December 18, 1979 and spent his formative years in Seattle, Washington where he developed an affinity for basketball. Heath proved his innate athletic drive in high school playing varsity basketball which in turn secured a scholarship and highly coveted position as point/shooting guard for the Pioneer’s at the University of Denver.
He attributes many of the lessons he learned in sportsmanship to the time he spent playing on the Division 1-A Men’s Basketball team during 1998-2002. Heath double majored in IT and Business Administration during his tenure at the University.
